University Assistant (PhD position)

Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Independent research, writing the dissertation
• Administrative and coordinating tasks

Your profile:

• Relevant completed diploma or master's degree in one of the subjects represented in the DK or related subjects, e.g. Educational science, European ethnology, peace and conflict research, history (contemporary history, economic history), literature, philosophy, law, linguistics with a specialisation in the field of inequality research or a related field
• Very good diploma or master's thesis, preferably with a thematic and theoretical focus on issues of inequality research or a related field and in one of the subjects mentioned in the previous point (diploma or master's thesis must be attached in digital form)
• Dissertation project with a focus on dynamics of inequality and difference in the age of globalisation in one of the subjects mentioned above
• Dissertation outline (max. 8 pages) must be attached
• Good written and spoken English (B2); knowledge of German (B1); experience abroad is desirable;
• The position will initially be advertised at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. As soon as the position is filled, it can/will be transferred to the institute or subject concerned
• Ability to work in a team, flexibility, ability to work independently and communication skills

For this position, a minimum gross salary of € 2.786 per month (14 times)^*. Is stipulated in the collective agreement. Your actual starting salary will depend on your previous experience and will increase over the course of your employment.
