University Assistant (PhD position)

• 20 hours per week; will be increased to 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed

Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Dissertation in the field of Physical Chemistry and Functional Materials Science (FSP FunMat)
• Independent research in the field of fundamental electrochemistry and interfacial analysis with a special focus on scanning probe microscopy
• Independent teaching
• Participation in the supervision of work and publication activities
• Training and further education
• Administrative tasks

Your profile:

• Completed relevant Master's, Magister or Diplom degree in chemistry, physics or materials and nanosciences; Relevant previous knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Application and evaluation of basic methods of single crystal electrochemistry (e.g. Cyclic voltammetry); preparation of single crystals; electrocatalysis; in-situ scanning probe microscopy (EC-AFM/EC-STM).
• Please enclose written reflections on your dissertation project with your application (max. 5 pages).
• Good communication skills and willingness to cooperate; didactic talent; organisational talent.
• Ability to work in a team
• Teaching experience is an advantage

The minimum gross salary (stipulated by collective agreement) for 20 hours per week amounts to € 1.857 per month (14 times)*. The salary will be increased to € 2.785 for 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed and sent to the Personnel Department. The salary will be higher if you have worked in a similar position before.
