University Assistant (PhD position)

Start date/duration:

  • for 4 years

Administrative unit:

  • Department of Psychology

Extent of employment:

  • 20 hours per week; will be increased to 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed

Job Description:

Your tasks:

  • Dissertation in the field of affective neuroscience
  • Independent research in the field of affective neuroscience & neuropsychology
  • Independent teaching in the field of biological psychology
  • Supervision of students
  • Training and further education
  • Administrative tasks and administrative activities

Your profile:

  • Completed relevant Master's, Magister or Diploma degree in Psychology or a related neuroscience subject
  • Requirements: Knowledge in the field of cognitive neuroscience and neuroimaging (especially fMRI) as evidenced by publications and/or conference contributions; programming skills (e.g. R, Matlab or Python); very good knowledge of written and spoken English; submission of a research statement (1-2 pages).
  • Desired: Special interest in the field of affective neuroscience; experience in empirical research; knowledge of typical neuroimaging analysis methods (e.g. Decoding, connectivity analyses); interest and willingness to work in a team; written and spoken German; subject-specific international and practical experience; very good communication and cooperation skills with colleagues and students

The minimum gross salary (stipulated by collective agreement) for 20 hours per week amounts to € 1.857 per month (14 times)*. The salary will be increased to € 2.785 for 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed and sent to the Personnel Department. The salary will be higher if you have worked in a similar position before.
