University Assistant (postdoc)

Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Independent research activities in the field of didactics of political education
• Independent teaching of didactic courses in the History and Political Education teacher training programme, with a focus on the didactics of political education
• Supervision of students and participation in the supervision of final theses
• Assistance with organisational and administrative tasks at the Institute of Didactics and in the field of History and Political Education; cooperation activities in the network LehrerInnenbildung West
• Continuing education

Your profile:

• Completed doctoral or PhD studies in the didactics of political education or didactics of history or political science or history studies
• Relevant academic publications and lecturing activities beyond the dissertation as well as travelling experience
• University teaching experience in the field of didactics of political education; desirable: teaching experience in the didactics of history
• Relevant teaching degree and school teaching experience (secondary level) and/or experience with empirical research work at school
• Desirable: Experience in participating in research projects and acquiring third-party funding
• Very good knowledge of German (at least C1)
• Teamwork and communication skills as well as creative problem-solving skills
