University Assistant (PhD position)

Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Dissertation in the field of statistics
• Independent research
• Teaching of courses
• Supporting research work, participation in research projects, support in teaching and examination activities
• Training and further education
• Administrative tasks

Your profile:

• Completed subject-related Master's, Magister or Diplom degree programme
• Very good knowledge of statistics
• Good programming experience (e.g. R, C, C++, Java or similar)
• Interest in the practical analysis of data sets
• Knowledge of English
• Basic hardware and software skills
• Ability to work in a team, creative problem-solving skills, communication skills
• The topic of the dissertation will be the further development of state-of-the-art regression and forecasting methods. Machine learning and artificial intelligence methods will also be used. It is possible to apply the developed methods for property valuation and forecasting in cooperation with DataScience Service GmbH (www.datascience-service.at). Large, complex and very up-to-date data sets will be used for this purpose
