Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Laboratory operations: Independent performance of molecular biology experiments (PCR and qRT-PCR, cloning, preparation of samples for next generation sequencing, etc.); including subsequent data evaluation (e.g. Analysis of quantitative PCR results, genotyping based on electropherograms); material flow coordination; sterile supply and disposal.
• Operation and maintenance of highly sensitive and expensive equipment (e.g. Near-infrared spectrometer, Biorad CFX OPUS 96, high-performance macroscopes and microscopes, spectrophotometer, etc.)
• Collaboration in laboratory organism breeding, evolution experiments and field collection activities

Your profile:

• Completed training as a technical assistant (BMA or equivalent), solid knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques (DNA extraction, PCR); basic knowledge of microbiology; IT skills (MS Office, web-based databases, simple image processing); good English; independent acquisition of knowledge from specialist literature, possibly familiarisation with bioinformatics programmes
• Team and organisational skills
