University Assistant (PhD position)

Job Description:

In this position you are expected to write a dissertation in a stimulating environment using the university's infrastructure. You will hold your own lectures, tutor students and participate in administration. 50% of the working time is reserved for the thesis. Main tasks:

• Dissertation in the field of databases and data engineering;
• Independent research in the field of databases and data engineering, e.g. In the areas of machine learning, data analytics, information retrieval, recommender systems or data and text mining;
• Teaching;
• Student supervision and scientific publications;
• Organizational and administrative tasks;
• Training and further education.

Required qualifications:

• Completed Master's, Magister or Diploma degree in Computer Science or related fields;
• Good knowledge of databases, information retrieval and data engineering;
• Good knowledge of German (teaching);
• Good knowledge of English;
• Ability to work in a team;
• Leadership and communication skills in student supervision;
